MV Recommendation: G-Dragon – Untitled, 2014

Untitled, 2014 by G-Dragon is this week’s video recommendation, one of my forever favorites that will make your emotions flow.

This video itself was set in a simple way with very little effect. The skyline only really showing colour transitions that change as smoothly as G-Dragon’s voice. He sings about regret, about missing his chance and wanting to talk one more time even if it means losing everything he has.

Sadness, despair and regrets for all the things that they could have done together but he was too self-absorbed to notice when the person needed him. Now he just wants a last chance to tell the person everything he feels and how sorry he is, even if it is only in his dreams.

G-Dragon shows off his emotions singing throughout the video which is rather unusual as he is in fact a rapper. The close ups show the internal fight, the struggle, the regret and they make this video even more authentic. He is well known for his powerful rapping and dissing, but this time he wrote and produced a heartfelt song that touches your heart as you watch the music video and listen to the lyrics.

Shot in one single take, this video is full of emotions, conflict and overall sadness which is drenched in every single scene. It really represents the meaning behind this wonderful ballad about regretting the loss of someone very important to you.

If you are as much into this song as me, watch the live version filmed during his tour in 2017 before he enlisted. Get the tissues out because you’re probably going to cry.
