[Review] SOOJIN – RIZZ

SOOJIN is back with new music in her second mini-album ‘RIZZ‘. Her debut mini-album ‘AGASSY‘ was one of our favourite solo debuts last year, and we are looking forward to listen what she has prepared for this one.

Let’s dive in!

RIZZ

This mini-album kicks off with the club banger ‘RIZZ ME UP‘, this song is a total bop, with solid singing, vibey falsettos and a UK garage sound that absolutely amazing. What a start!

The title track ‘MONA LISA‘ follows up with a lovely electric guitar, synth and afro-beats, the composition in this song is fantastic, its flow is super catchy and fun to listen to, with great vocal layering and sectioning. The music video for this single is all about peak aesthetics, striking visuals, and an eye catching performance. Check it below.

The summer single ‘Lime‘ takes over to refresh listeners with soft vocals and a smooth flow. With melodic rapping and a beautiful composition this single plays absolutely flawlessly, it is magical, summery and a solid listen.

Tide‘ comes up next to add the R&B/EDM touch into this release, the falsettos in this song are amazing, and it definitely shows off a new colour and vibe in SOOJIN’s solo music. Disco and a touch of funk come along in ‘DROP TOP‘, inviting listener to jam to the vibey rhythm in this track and very easy to listen style.

This mini-album reaches its end with ‘Summer Daze‘, the dreamy pop-rock sound and delicate but smooth singing in this song is beautiful, a memorable end with a incredible release.

SOOJIN indeed outdid herself with this release, the sound, concept and style are refreshing and a total blast to listen to. Enjoy this release here.
