A sustainable life: guide to cruelty free / vegan cosmetics

I have been a vegetarian for more than a decade, but it wasn’t until five years ago that I found about cosmetic companies testing their products on animals. Back then, I didn’t even do my make up or use any face creams, but as I moved countries and the weather conditions changed I had to change it up.

Researching about cruelty free brands back then took a bit of time. There weren’t as many options and the ones that existed were expensive, especially for a college student like me. Nowadays people are more conscious about the environment, animals and all the practices that harm them and new cruelty free/vegan brands are coming on the market all the time.

Today I’m giving you a list of cruelty free and vegan brands that can be found in drugstores or department store. Everyone who’s living on a budget, don’t worry. I’ve got you covered. These brands and products are not pricey at all.

Many of the brands mentioned in the cruelty free list also have a vegan range. Most of them have a wide range of shades and tones for any skin colour out there as well as products for all the different skin types.

At the moment I’m absolutely obsessed with E.L.F and Makeup Revolution (their chocolate palette is amazing) their products have high ethical values and they also are high quality that can compete with high end brands.

Make sure to try the products by these brands, they won’t disappoint you. And you’re helping the planet. It seems like a win-win situation.
