[Review] Epik High – Strawberry

Hip-Hop trio and legends Epik High are back with their new mini-album ‘Strawberry’, if you have been following us for bit, you know how much we love their music and legendary discography.

This time they are bringing five new track and incredible collaborations, let’s get right into it.

Strawberry

The opening track ‘Strawberry‘ starts off this release with the best lo-fi and instrumental mix. This intro single sets a chill mood with its calming, smooth and charming instrumentation, definitely a solid start.

Featuring Jackson Wang (GOT7), ‘On My Way‘ mixes Epik High’s distinctive rap delivery and style with a nostalgic chorus sung by Jackson. This single is a call-out to the haters, and I just love them for keeping it real. Mic Drop.

The title track ‘Catch‘ features MAMAMOO’s Hwa Sa. This song, as the former, is a diss to the haters, but with a smooth and very surprising disco feel. The synth, and rhythm in this track are one of a kind and will have you jamming to it.

Up next is ‘Down Bad Freestyle‘, for this track Tablo goes off and spits some facts. As expected the word play and lyrics are something else, we are always up to listening to what he wants to share, and in this single he delivers.

Last on this EP is ‘God’s Latte‘ finishing on the same smooth lo-fi vibe it started with. The rap delivery, and its mix with the piano instrumental were a total listening experience, beautifully done, and the perfect clousure.

We are looking forward to listen to these tracks live in their upcoming European tour along with their other hits. In the meanwhile we will be listening to ‘Strawberry’ by Epik High here.
