[Review] ONEUS – LIVED

I fell for ONEUS in ‘Road To Kingdom’ and since they released the music video for the single ‘COME BACK HOME’ I have been waiting for this comeback and it is finally here. The concept of this comeback is an absolute killer, I mean who doesn’t like vampires and the renaissance era.

Let’s listen to this EP.

LIVED

This journey starts with ‘Intro: LIVED’, and from the first second I got goosebump, the back track simulating the heartbeat is super different and nothing like I have heard before. The rapping and vocals are fantastic and I personally felt that this song is for listeners to get immersed in the ONEUS world.

TO BE OR NOT TO BE’ is the title track in this release, and I absolutely loved how this song was layered and mixed. They did a fantastic job vocally and with the track instrumentation. My highlight was definitely the chorus, the beat drop, incorporation of synth and the inclusion of the electric guitar was an extremely cool idea. I completely dig this new and very cool side ONEUS is showing in this comeback.

Next we have ‘Dead Or Alive’, from the very beginning the synth used in the intro had me hooked and it just got better and better. There is a retro vibe to it which is very captivating. The track evolves and grows flawlessly incorporating orchestration, making it a song that is probably one of the best b-sides I have listened to by this group.

With a lighter and more summery vibe is ‘Dizzy’, this song feels like a breath of fresh air after the previous songs. It is definitely an easier listen and it was a nice incorporation to this EP.

Airplane’ comes next and once again we get fantastic layering and mixing. This track feels in the middle between the previous two. The high note in the bridge is clear, bright and will leave you in awe, ONEUS’ vocals are no joke. And overall this track leans more on the bright pop side with the inclusion of guitar but there is something about it that is kinda dark and follows the concept of this release.

Last but not least we get the pre-released track ‘COME BACK HOME’. This song had us shook when it was released in ‘Road To Kingdom’ a couple of months ago and it still leaves an impact, that is how good it is. Watch the MV below and be ready for vampires, blood and incredible visuals.

You can listen to this release below, and please give some love to this group, they are incredible.
