[Review] BLANK2Y – K2Y I : CONFIDENCE [Thumbs Up]

BLANK2Y is Keystone Entertainment latest idol group. They debuted today with the mini album ‘K2Y I : CONFIDENCE [Thumbs Up]‘ which marks the start of the career and also a trilogy.

This group consists of DK, Louis, Donghyuk, U, Siwoo, Mikey, Youngbin, Sungjun and So Dam. We are curious to see what these rookies have prepared, so let’s dive in.

K2Y I : CONFIDENCE [Thumbs Up]

Starting off we get an edgy ‘Intro (R)‘ with heavy house music perfect for clubbing. This opening quickly transitions into the title track ‘Thumbs Up‘ in its Korean and English versions. For this track we get a EDM/hip-hop inspired track with a cool arrangement. The singing and rapping in this song was definitely planned to hype up listeners. A sugar rush in a bit over three minutes.

For the music video we get a dance routine that looks a lot like break dancing, mixed with the expected stunning visuals, excellently done camera angles and awesome visual effects. Check it below.

Touch‘ follows up with a more EDM/pop style and lovely vocalisation. This song has summer release vibes. I really like its flow and the fantastic job done with the layering and mixing. What a Bop!

Last in this release is the song ‘Constellation‘ created for the fans. Soft vocals take over this pop ballad, and end this release on a very soft note. The melodic rapping was awesome, and I really liked the acoustic guitar instrumentation in this single.

We are looking forward to BLANK2Y’s next stage in this trilogy. Their debut release was a fun listen with a cool mix of genres. Make sure to listen to it here.
