[Review] B.O.Y – Phase Two: WE

B.O.Y is back with their ‘Phase Two: WE’ EP. This second installment follows the line of ‘Phase One: YOU’ that was released in January of this year. I’m excited to see what Yuvin and Kookheon have in store for us.

Let’s dive right in!

Phase Two: WE

We start with the opening song ‘WE’. The duo B.O.Y undoubtedly has some amazing vocals. This pop R&B track is a great way to display that. There is a really interesting sample they’re using in the instrumentals and it gives some funkiness to the track.

‘BLANK’ follows that with a more synth approach. This is a lovely summer song with spacious electronic sounds and even some autotune on the rap section. Honestly, it’s kind of a bop.

Next up is the song ‘BUTTERFLY’. This mid-tempo ballad has me feeling. I really love their harmonies and the warm timbre to their vocal tones.

The fourth track is ‘PS’. The opening of this one is amazing. I love the lo-fi vibe. This might just be my favorite track of the EP. The vocals are amazing and even though the lyrics are quite dramatic, I dig it. It reminds me of early 2010s R&B including that amazing belting at 2:47.

The last single ‘MISS YOU’. This is honestly adorable. The boys look fantastic and the aesthetics of the music video are really soft.

Overall this was a really lovely EP with some amazing vocals and great sounds. Go ahead and check out ‘Phase Two: WE’ by B.O.Y on Spotify here.
