Album Review: AOA – NEW MOON

AOA is back with their new mini album ‘NEW MOON’. It is their sixth mini album, but the first one with five members.

‘NEW MOON’ has six tracks so let’s dive in!

NEW MOON

The first track is the title track: ‘Come See Me’. Take a look at the stunning music video. The girls are slaying everyone (maybe literally as well) with their looks.

Jimin is doing her usual ‘hey’-ing while she also gets a turn to display her vocals. Actually all of the members are putting their vocals out there. A really solid title track that will no doubt win the hearts of many.

Next up is ‘Sorry’. This track you’ll know if you watched the show ‘QUEENDOM’. If you don’t know it yet, take a look because that dance break is actual FIRE. Get ready to have this song stuck in your head forever.

The third track is ‘Magic Spell’ and oh my God. This song is a ride! The dirty electric guitar and the whistling are somehow a perfect combo. They’re playing with the rhythm, moving back and forth between the chorus and the verses. The fact that they open and close the song with a little laugh just makes me think of sexy witches putting a spell on someone. Nice.

Ninety Nine’ has an amazing intro. Just listen to that bass throughout the entire song, I’m in love. This is such a fun, sexy song. I’m hooked. What a lovely B-side track.

The song ‘My Way’ is the last song on the album. It has a very retro feel, especially with the trumpets in the background. Then with the bridge we get sirens, Jimin’s rap part, belting, it’s fantastic and an excellent way to close off ‘NEW MOON’ with a lot of power.

What an awesome comeback! I’ll definitely be playing this for a while.
