[Review] LUCY – INSERT COIN

The boys from LUCY are back with their latest mini-album ‘INSERT COIN’. We’re always excited to listen to new music from the band so let’s dive right in!

INSERT COIN

We start off with ‘Unbelievable’. This track is adorable! I love the energy and the lighthearted flow. The bass is really popping off in the instrumental and as always the violin brings such a unique vibe to it. I love the video game references in both the music video and the instrumentals. This is just so CUTE.

‘Tied Up’ follows that with cute tie-ins with the video game sounds. The guitar is straight up vibing and I’m really digging the energy. I also really enjoyed the tiny vocal slide at the end of the chorus.

Next up is ‘Never in Vain’. We’re going for a more rock sound in this track. I like how dramatic this is, it reminds me of a musical with the echoey violin more pushed towards the back. The lyrics are fully in English, read them here.

The closing track is ‘Fill it up’. The boys are bringing dubstep into their discography. I was thoroughly not expecting that but it’s honestly pretty amazing! It’s such a nice vibe! The instrumental outro is beyond this world.

Overall ‘INSERT COIN’ by LUCY is really cool and I like how they’re pushing their own boundaries. Go ahead and listen to it here.
