[Review] Lovelyz – Unforgettable

The girls from Lovelyz are back with their new mini-album ‘Unforgettable’. This is their seventh mini-album and we are stoked! Let’s dive in!

Unforgettable

The opening track is ‘Unforgettable’. It’s a lovely intro not even a minute long. The orchestration is wonderful though. It feels very majestic.

After that we get the title track ‘Obliviate’. This is such a dope song. I’m in love with the deep bass and the vocals. Ryu Sujeong, one of the members is credited as a co-writer.

Go check out the beautiful music video.

The third track is ‘Dream in a dream’. We’re going the ‘Inception’ route here. The instrumentation is so out there, I DIG it. It’s kind of creepy at times, but wow! Also hello vocals! This song is so dynamic, I’ll be replaying this to death.

‘Never, Secret’ is up next. This retro ballad is honestly so soft. They worked with the composer DAVINK who also worked on their ballads like ‘Circle’ and ‘Good Night Like Yesterday’.

I honestly was not expecting the reggaeton opening for ‘Memories’, especially not after ‘Never, Secret’. It’s a solid track though I wish they had changed up the order so it wouldn’t feel as out of place. The build-up to the chorus is amazing.

We’re going back to the ballads with ‘Worry Dolls’. This acoustic guitar in the opening is absolutely lovely. We change it up a bit, with a full band and even an electric guitar solo which is really cool.

Overall

‘Unforgettable’ by Lovelyz is a lovely addition to their discography. I can’t wait to watch some live performances!
