[Review] Kwon Eun Bi – OPEN

Kwon Eun Bi released her first solo mini-album ‘OPEN’. The former IZ*ONE member is ready to take on the industry and re-introduce herself as a soloist. Let’s take a look!

OPEN

We start off with the single ‘OPEN‘. This intro track has a lovely Latin-inspired sound that seemlessly blends into synths pop. It’s very cool.

‘DOOR’ is the title track of this release and what a banger. It was co-written by Eun Bi. We’re getting an electro swing track with some jazz thrown in and Eun Bi’s beautiful vocals. It’s catchy, feels very fresh and is guaranteed to get stuck in your head.

Take a look at the music video below. She looks absolutely stunning.

Next up is ‘AMIGO’ featuring Babysoul, the leader and main vocal of the girl group Lovelyz. We’re going full summer bop with this Moombahton track. I love the girl power in this single. The guitar riff in the back is lovely.

‘Blue Eyes’ slows everything down a little. The track falls under the R&B umbrella with a really nice synth sound in the instrumentation. It’s a very interesting track, that I wasn’t expecting. I dig it a lot. There’s a lot of pauses that are well implemented and I like the playfulness with the beat changes.

Next up is ‘Rain’ which opens up with a beautiful piano. Eun Bi has writing credits on this one and she also co-composed the track. This ballad really shows off her vocal power. It’s stunning.

We close off the mini-album with the single ‘Eternity’. This more acoustic track, ends on a grateful note by thanking people for believing in her. It’s very wholesome.

Overall ‘OPEN’ by Kwon Eun Bi is a solid start of her solo career. I’m very happy with this release. You can find it on Spotify here.
