[Review] Jun.K – 20mins

Jun.K released his third EP ‘20Mins’. This is his first album release since he was discharged from the military. The main vocal of 2PM left us heartbroken with the single ‘This Is Not A Song, 1929’ earlier this year, and we were waiting for this EP.

Let’s dive into the music.

20Mins

This extended plays kicks off with ‘Home’. From the very beginning this song welcomes listeners with acoustic instrumentals, Jun.K joins the melody with his vocals and we get a solid track with jazzy vibes and a magnificent orchestration. Just stunning.

Lo-fi inspired beats take over in ‘Sketchbook’, this track has an incredible vocal delivery and a fun and also very interesting rhythm.

The title track ‘30 Minutes Might Be Too Long’ is next. This song feels more like an R&B ballad, it’s a smooth listen, and the music video was filmed beautifully, the storyline is full of turns and twist. Check it below.

Slip ‘N Slide’ is next and continues with the R&B feel with a fun tempo and kinda hip-hop-ish delivery. This song is super cool, I loved what they did with the composition and lyrical delivery, it’s playful and also kinda cute.

Lo-fi beats take over in ‘Parallel Lines’, I absolutely loved Jun.K singing in this track, the synth throughout the full track was definitely an interesting addition and worked extremely well with the tone of this song.

We near the end of this EP with ‘Comma’, a track that feels somehow indie with a very soft concept that is a smooth listen to chill and enjoy.

Closing this release we get ‘Ms. NO TIME’ and what a fun track to end this release. The hook is catchy, and I absolutely love how groovy this song is.

Jun.K was involved in the composition and wrote all the songs for this EP. Make sure to check it out here.
