[Review] CIX – ‘OK’ Prologue : Be OK

CIX is back with their first album ‘‘OK’ Prologue : Be OK‘. With this release this group is starting a new era and we are thrilled to see the music coming with it.

For now, let’s dive into this release, we have plenty of songs to talk about.

‘OK’ Prologue : Be OK

A guitar riff with synth-pop welcomes listeners in ‘BAD DREAM‘, the pauses and beat drops in the track are amazing. I really like how in the pauses all the focus was on the vocals and how they build up the instrumentation after that. The mixing and layering in this single is absolutely fantastic! It’s a ten out of ten.

Electronic R&B vibes come along in ‘Off My Mind‘, and this song is all about CIX’s heavenly vocal line and their killer harmonizations. I really liked the transition to the chorus and how smooth the orchestration was.

The title track ‘WAVE‘ is next in this release and gives off a summer vibe with its EDM arrangement and bass. The rapping stood out for me in this single and the bridge was SMOOTH. The music video follows the same concept, and the members are looking fantastic and expensive in those outfits. Check it below.

LOST‘ plays with a groovy track and a super cool bass line. This single had me jamming to it and I really enjoyed its vibe and catchiness.

Mid-Way

Funk and a retro music feel merge in ‘Genie in a Bottle‘. This single is a full vibe, packed with cool harmonies and killer rapping. The bridge was super unexpected but it was SO GOOD! this song is an interesting listen and I loved it.

20‘ is next in this release with an EDM based track and a youthful and carefree feel. Sharp vocalization comes along with ‘ICE‘, this song is a full vibe. It super chill and a fantastic listen.

We continue with glorious vocals with ‘In & Out‘, the funky guitar added to this track is super cool and the falsettos out of this world. VOCAL POWER.

Piano instrumentation begins ‘Confession‘ and we are onto an emotional ride with this pop-ballad. After listening to this single, I realised how vocal heavy this album is. I absolutely loved how it was made to show the talent of the members. Totally breathtaking.

We end this album with ‘Here For You‘ a pop-ballad with a bit of a country-ish instrumentation. This track has an indie feel. It is completely in English and it is just super wholesome. A great end for CIX’s first album.

We are thrilled to see whats next for CIX in this new era they started. Make sure to listen to this release here.
