NMIXX debuts with the single album ‘AD MARE’

JYP Entertainment’s new girl group NMIXX is finally out with their first single album ‘AD MARE‘. Consisting of the members Haewon, Lily, Sullyoon, Jinni, BAE, Jiwoo and Kyujin, NMIXX is debuting with a very interesting storyline and an eye-catching concept.

In its MELON description the storyline is explained as “(…) The girls took the first step towards an unknown world where everything they had just dreamed of came together. The moment they discover a new world and open their eyes (OO), their world cannot be the same as before. (…)”.

Fans are getting some AI reality and adventure with this debut concept and I am absolutely here for it. It is definitely unique and a very fresh start for a girl group.

AD MARE

Opening this single album we get the sing ‘TANK‘ with hip-hop inspired tunes and a super dope style. This song is absolutely crazy and also super catchy. Its mix with punk rock is smooth and surprising, but I absolutely loved what was done at a vocal level with the harmonisations. The bridge was definitely the highlight of this track, and the only thing I have to say is that this group has very outstanding vocalists.

The title track ‘O.O‘ plays off with a very interesting structure. This song is bold and experimental. Musically it feels as if two songs were put together in a flawless blend. The first part kicks off with a strong arrangement including a very fun flute riff. The following sections play with pop, EDM and even electric guitar. Overall, this debut single is fascinating to listen to and is super catchy.

The music video concept pretty much follows the storyline showing two different universes and the member in both of them. The styling is fantastic, and the visuals and production TOP QUALITY. Check it below.

The last two singles in this single album are the instrumental version of both tracks. Marking the end of the debut single album ‘AD MARE’ of NMIXX.

Without a doubt, this group surprised me with the music choice for the debut, it is out of the box, but absolutely fascinating and unique. Make sure to listen to this release here.
