[Review] Park Ji Hoon – HOT&COLD

Park Ji Hoon is back with his fifth mini-album ‘HOT&COLD’. We’re excited to dive into this release.

HOT&COLD

We start off with the intro ‘Escalator’. It clocks in just over a minute and has a lovely R&B meets Hip-Hop vibe.

Next up is the title track ‘Serious’. This dance track with a lot of Hip-Hop influences is pretty cool! I like how they threw in the synths and the rap break is dope. Park Ji Hoon’s rap tone is awesome. The lyrics were co-written by PENOMECO.

The music video is filled with aesthetic shots.

‘WANT!’ follows that up. This is a pop track with really sweet vocals and a laidback attitude. It feels quite summery and is a really nice listen. I like the instrumentation in the bridge with the string instruments.

Next up is ‘CHEESE’. It’s a mid-tempo pop track with some funky synths thrown in. Park Ji Hoon’s singing voice and rap voice brings such a fun diversity to the track. His singing voice is quite high, but then his rapping tonality is really low. It makes it really fun!

‘LOVE GLASS’ brings us some R&B. It’s a smooth and sexy track. The chorus is really catchy and he uses his falsetto well.

The last track is ‘All Yours’. We get acoustic guitar and a sweet ballad. I really enjoyed how they played with the tempo and the addition of the bass guitar. It’s absolutely lovely.
