[Indie Pick] HYNGSN

We’re back with a new Indie Pick, this time about indie R&B artist HYNGSN.

HYNGSN is a Korean indie singer-songwriter who was featured on a single for the first time in 2018. She appeared on the titular album by Awkward Studio.

Her first solo release came in the shape of the 2019 album ‘DAMDI’. The EP contains seven singles and includes features by DAMYE, Easymind, SFC.JGR and Khundi Panda. The mini is a really solid R&B meets electronic exploration.

HYNGSN was also featured on the ‘PIZZA BREAK’ EP which is an album compiled by the pizza chain EUROKO PIZZA.

If you like more electronic music, check out her feature on the single ‘Kanna’ by syndasizung.

She was also featured on the Owen single ‘sadderday’.

HYNGSN also collabed with Viann on two of the singles on his 2019 album ‘The Baker’.

In 2020, she released the single ‘Cocktail’ featuring SFC.JGR and the EP ‘Agfa.’. The second EP gives a broad range of genres, ranging from R&B to Neo-Soul.

The title track of ‘Agfa.’, ‘Say that I luv u’ with Kim Daniel is smooth as hell.

This year HYNGSN released two singles and another EP. I’ve been quite obsessed with her single ‘FLWR’ and its bossa nova influences.

Her third EP ‘LaVida’ is so SO good! I also featured the mini on my August Korean Indie DisKovery.

Also I really wanted to share this collab she did with Tokimeki Records. They covered the single ‘How Do You Think’ originally by CHEEZE.

Overall, HYNGSN is a gem that is waiting to be discovered by the indie audience. She has a great voice and a super interesting discography.

Lastly, you can find her on Instagram here and on Spotify here.
