[Review] TAN – LIMITED EDITION ‘1TAN’

TAN is the latest boy group taking over the K-pop world. This group was formed through the 2021 survival show “Extreme Debut: Wild Idol”. The final line-up consists of Lee Changsun, Im Jooan, Lee Jaejun, Seo Sunghyuk, Kim Hyunyeop, Bang Taehoon, and Kim Jiseong.

A few of their faces are familiar as they have previously debuted in other groups and also have participated in well-known survival shows. TAN is an acronym for “To All Nations”. These guys want to share the music with the world. We are thrilled to see how it is gonna go! For now, let’s dive into their debut EP.

LIMITED EDITION ‘1TAN’

Fix You Part1.‘ plays as the intro track for this debut release with a very trendy sound and flawless vocals. This track is a strong start point for this group, and I just wished it was longer.

With a very surprising a-cappella intro the title track ‘DU DU DU‘ takes over with incredible layering, heavy bass and groovy vocalisation. I loved how they kept the a-cappella as part of the track, and how it switched along this song with the beats. The rap-line of TAN is unbelievable, the delivery of the verses was super dope and their flow super sick!

This single is a very strong title track, it is charming, trendy and fun to listen to. All the members get to shine, and I loved the sound to bits. For the music video, we get awesome visuals mixed with a tight and super sharp choreography.

Each member gets the perfect screen time, and I really enjoyed how well-done and beautifully shot this production is. Check it below.

We go back to the 90s with ‘MY GIRL (for FAN)‘. This song has a funky pop sound that really gives this group the feel of group from the 90s. I loved how cute and refreshing this single is. Their vocals work amazingly with this sound and overall it’s just an amazing listen, specially for 90s kids.

Last on this debut release is the English version of the title track, making international fans get even more into the music of this group with the lyrics.

Overall, this debut release was super dope. It felt rather short but I loved every minute of it. Make sure to listen to this release here.
