Brand Deep Dive: celimax

For this edition of our Brand Deep Dive, we want to talk about a viral brand that has definitely taken over social media with its innovative formulations and impressive results. From exfoliating toner pads to retinal-powered skincare, Celimax has been getting more and more attention from K-beauty enthusiasts around the world. Let’s dive into Celimax.

Established in 2019, Celimax started as a single-product company with the Ji Woo Gae Heartleaf BHA Peeling Pad. Since then, the brand has continued developing its product range based on surveys and interviews with thousands of consumers, making it a K-beauty brand that puts consumer needs at the heart of its development process.

Celimax’s brand principles focus on solving consumers’ skin concerns correctly, creating products together with their customers, and relying on research-based formulations. Rather than focusing heavily on packaging or short-lived trends, the brand puts its attention on the formulas themselves, working with consumers to address what it calls their “unspoken skin concerns.”

And looking at the brand’s ever-growing product range, it seems this approach is definitely working.

Product Lines

JI WOO GAE

The OG line of Celimax and the one that started it all, Ji Woo Gae is focused on gentle exfoliation and helping remove accumulated dead skin cells and excess sebum.

Its signature ingredient combination includes Heartleaf and BHA, making the line particularly interesting for those looking to improve skin texture and keep congested skin feeling fresh and balanced.

The collection has expanded well beyond the original peeling pad and now includes toner pads, cleansers, body care, and masks.

NONI

The Noni line brings the antioxidant-rich Noni fruit into the spotlight. Known for its nourishing and soothing properties, Noni is combined with other skin-loving ingredients to help maintain a hydrated, comfortable, and healthy-looking complexion.

This is one of Celimax’s more extensive collections, covering several steps of the skincare routine and making it easy to incorporate Noni-focused products into your daily routine.

CICA

Cica is practically a staple in K-beauty at this point, so naturally, Celimax has its own take on this beloved ingredient.

The Cica line centers around Centella Asiatica and focuses on calming, hydrating, and supporting skin that feels irritated or stressed. It’s a particularly interesting range for those who want to keep their routine simple while giving their skin some extra soothing care.

BRIGHTENING

For those looking to even out their complexion, the Brightening line focuses on ingredients such as Tranexamic Acid, making it particularly interesting for uneven skin tone, pigmentation, and post-acne marks.

The collection includes a blemish serum, cream, toner pads, sheet masks, and sunscreen, giving you plenty of options to incorporate brightening care into your routine.

VITAMIN A

And now for the social media star of Celimax: the Vitamin A line.

This collection is centered around Retinal, a Vitamin A derivative known for supporting skin renewal and improving the appearance of fine lines, texture, and overall skin firmness.

Given the more targeted nature of these formulas, the collection is smaller and focuses on products such as a spot cream, serum, gel mask, and moisturizer.

As with any Vitamin A product, this is a line where we recommend starting slowly and paying attention to how your skin reacts, especially if you’re new to retinal.

DUAL BARRIER

Developed with dry and sensitive skin in mind, the Dual Barrier line is all about hydration and skin barrier support.

Its formulations feature ingredients such as ceramides and peptide complexes, helping replenish moisture and support the skin’s natural protective barrier.

This is the kind of range we would reach for when our skin is feeling dry, tight, or simply needs a little extra TLC.

OIL CONTROL

As the name suggests, the Oil Control collection focuses on balancing excess sebum while maintaining hydration.

The formulas are designed for oily and combination skin, helping manage shine and congestion without completely stripping the skin of moisture. The collection includes essences, creams, and sunscreen, allowing you to incorporate oil-control products throughout your routine.

Final Thoughts

Celimax may have started with just one product, but it has grown into a brand with a surprisingly diverse portfolio and several products that have become social media favorites.

What we particularly like about Celimax is its consumer-focused approach. Instead of simply following the latest K-beauty trend, the brand puts a lot of emphasis on understanding what consumers actually want from their skincare, and then building formulations around those needs.

From the original Ji Woo Gae peeling pads to the viral Vitamin A collection, there is already quite a lot to explore. And considering the brand is still developing, we’re definitely keeping an eye on what comes next.

If you’re curious to discover what all the Celimax hype is about, this is definitely a brand worth adding to your K-beauty radar.
