[Review] DPR IAN – Moodswings In To Order

DPR IAN is back with his new full-length album ‘Moodswings In To Order’. Let’s dive right in!

Moodswings In To Order

We start off with ‘Seraph’. I immediately enjoyed the ambient sound. The deep sound that’s reminiscent of a didgeridoo and created a beautiful depth. The vocal of ‘set my wings on fire’ mixed with the violin was trippy and honestly amazing.

Next up is ‘1 Shot’. There’s some sweet brass in the instrumental. I really like the layering of the samples in this track. The synth beat is dope and it transitions beautifully into the next track ‘Mood’ which starts with a howl. I’m not over the fact how groovy this is. The violin elevates the whole thing. I love it!

After that we get ‘Miss Understood’ which is the first of four title tracks. This one is a bit more hip-hop focused with the delivery. The deep synths are really cool.

‘Avalon’ is a super laidback synth track. It has a super nice flow and is super relaxing to listen to. I like the little bubbly synth they used.

Next up

‘Merry Go’ is the second title track. The vocals go up and down as if you’re sitting on one of the horses on a merry-go-round. The same goes for the beat. It’s absolutely amazing to listen to. It’s just so nice, I love it.

Up next we get ‘Ribbon’. I am obsessed with the groove and the beat. The bass is SICKENING. Whe the organ came in, I was losing my mind. What a track!

‘Winterfall’ is stunning. The bridge has me in a chokehold. If you want to feel things, definitely go check this one out.

After that we get ‘Calico’. I’m absolutely digging the groove of this. The cool vocal layering with the autotune was definitely a moment.

‘Mr. Insanity’ is next. This is so catchy. The chorus is a highlight and will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

‘Ballroom extravaganza’ came out a couple of days ago with the teaser trailer of the album. This is the third title track.

The closing track is Sometimes I’m’ which is also the last title track. We’re going back to groovy synths in this one. It’s a blessed reminder of the 80s.

You can watch the video for ‘Seraph’, ‘1 Shot’, ‘Mood’ and ‘Ribbon’ below. Everything about this video is insane and stunning. It’s so well done! The effects are marvellous. 10/10!

Overall ‘Moodswings In To Order’ or ‘MIITO’ is a great album by DPR IAN. I like how the full album feels very cohesive while all the songs still have their own identity. The videos, as expected are beautiful. I can’t wait to see what people’s interpretations are.
