[Review] Le Sserafim – HOT

Our girlypops from Le Sserafim are back with their latest mini-album ‘HOT’.

“In these times when being a little cynical and cool is considered cool, the five members say that they will rather focus on what they love and burn everything for it.”

We’re beyond curious so let’s dive right in!

HOT

We start off with ‘Born Fire‘. This is a typical Le Sserafim intro that really sets the stage of the album and, according to the album introduction: “It tells the story of a fire burning, dying, turning to ashes, and being rekindled by someone’s breath.”

Next up is the title track ‘HOT’. I am obsessed with the bass in this track. It’s a pop moment with a lot of retro influences. I love their vocal layering and the soft chorus. This is a major vibe.

I also have ot mention the beautiful music video with amazing styling!

‘Come Over’ was produced by the TikTok viral band Jungle. I absolutely love this! The backing vocals during the verses and the pre-chorus are stunning and I love this warm retro vibe. The synths were a great addition and this funky side of Le Sserafim feels super fresh. I can’t wait to blast this in my car.

We’re getting a very ambient track with ‘Ash’. I love the synths and the effects on the vocals. The chorus is a total earworm and I can only imagine how hard the remixes are gonna go. It’s giving a dark night at the club and I love it. The electric guitar in the bridge is everything.

The closing track is ‘So Cynical (badum)’. Chaewon, Yoonjinand Eunchae participated in the song’s production. We’re going for a Jersey House moment. This is such a nice listen and honestly a lovely ending point of the album.
