The boys from SF9 are back with their latest mini-album ‘LOVE RACE’. Let’s dive right in to see what new music they created for us!
LOVE RACE
We start off with the title track ‘LOVE RACE‘. This is a pop dance track that feels SO quintessential K-pop. I love it! The rhythm is bouncy and fresh. I really enjoyed the cute little intro before the electric guitars came in.
‘Suited’ comes next with a mid-tempo pop dance moment. I love the bright vibe to the instruemntals. The layered vocals were lovely, especially in the chorus. The lyrics talk about the excitement of getting ready to meet your loved one.
‘Side by Side’ brings us a funky disco moment. I thought this album description was really cute: “The lyrics are impressive, wittily comparing a dreamlike moment with a perfect other to fries and ketchup, a fork and knife.”
After that comes ‘WARURU’. This is an electro pop moment with a solid beat and a lot of momentum. I absolutely love the chorus with its catchy hook and powerful chanting. This one is a lot of fun!
‘No no no’ is another electro pop moment but it brings in some killer brass. The chorus is super sick and will have you shimmying along to the beat.
We’re closing the album with ‘Love puzzle’. This warm ballad feels like a hug. This is adorable, has a lot of heart and beautiful vocal moments to it. I can’t wait to see a live version of this. I like how the rap verses were incorporated into it. This feels very playful and light.
