Our queen Seulgi is back with her second solo mini-album ‘Accidentally on Purpose’. We still have ’28 Reasons’ on repeat so we’re beyond excited to have this comeback. Let’s take a closer look!
Accidentally on Purpose
We start off with the title track ‘Baby, Not baby’. This is a pop funk track with super cool guitars and bass in the instrumentals. I love her vocals and the catchy hook. Also the adlibs were fantastic. Honestly this is a really solid, unique and fresh comeback.
Also I can’t believe she’s bringing back the flare nail shape.
‘Better Dayz’ is an alternative pop song with a heavy bass line, sick vocals, and a super cool progression. I love the guitar riff in the instrumentals. We’re escaping reality and jumping into our dreams according to the album description and I agree it’s definitely an otherworldly track. Obsessed!
Next up is ‘Rollin’ (with my homies)’. This is such a fun R&B pop blend. I love the synths used here and how fun and laidback this feels. Grab your bestie for an impromptu roadtrip!
‘Whatever’ starts with really cool synths and uses that as the motiff for the rest of the track. We’re going for a mid tempo R&B track. According to the album description: “the lyrics contain a message that I will walk my own path at my own pace regardless of situations where people judge me and talk about me easily regardless of the facts, and you can meet Seulgi’s cool and easy-going motto on how to deal with life.”
After that comes ‘Praying’. We’re slowing things down with this one. I absolutely love Seulgi’s vocals in this one. It’s super smooth and I enjoyed the very spacious and echoey instrumentals. Honestly, this is lovely!
We’re closing off with ‘Weakness’. This love song is sweet, cheerful and soft. Seulgi is listed as one of the writers for this one, which we love to see.
