[Review] VERIVERY – SERIES ‘O’ [ROUND 2: HOLE]

VERIVERY is back with the follow up of their ‘SERIES ‘O’‘, their first release ‘[ROUND 1:HALL]‘, was a super fun listen. We are curious to see what direction this series will take, so, let’s dive into the music to find out.

SERIES ‘O’ [ROUND 2 : HOLE]

The title track ‘TRIGGER‘ comes first in this release and I really liked the composition of the track. The beats are super well mixed and keep the song interesting from start to finish. The vocals in the bridge are insane, and the high notes flawless.

The music video was filmed in the well-known location ‘The Gimcheon School Building‘, and has some fantastic CGI. The members look fantastic and the choreography is NEAT. Watch it below.

Synth comes along with ‘Underdog‘. VERIVERY kills it in this track, the balance between vocals and rapping is fantastic, and the beat drops are SO GOOD. The bridge changes the genre of this song and makes it smooth with its instrumentals. I was left shook with the sudden change and the transition to synth/EDM for the outro. This song is a total trip.

Self-composed by some of the members we get ‘Prom‘, this song has a more bubbly vibe and certain sweetness with its lyrical delivery. The harmonizations are great and this song is all about vocals.

Last on the digital version of this EP is ‘Heart Attack‘, this song is a trip of genres, mixing EDM, trap and deep house. I really liked the composition of this track. It is refreshing and unique.

The CD version of this EP includes the extra track ‘Thank you, NEXT?‘. Let us know if you gets your hands on a copy of the physical album and your thoughts on this single.

VERIVERY surprised us with ‘SERIES ‘O’ ROUND 2: HOLE’ they had a variety of genres that kept the extended play interesting and diverse.
