[Review] TO1 – WHY NOT?

The guys from TO1 (T.O.ONE) are back with their third mini-album ‘WHY NOT?‘. It has been a while since their last comeback, and even though there were a few changes in this group, we are excited to see which colours they will show for this release. They haven’t stopped surprising us since their debut.

It sort of feels like a new beginning for them. Let’s dive into the music.

WHY NOT?

As per usual TO1 welcomes listeners with an intro track full of power beats in ‘BOOM POW‘. This song will have you racing, its bass and the flute sound are an odd mix that works amazingly. This track creates hype and builds up a momentum for the bridge. As an intro song it will have listeners completely hooked.

The title track ‘Drummin” comes up next and with it we get a witty track with awesome vocal play and a dope rap delivery. This single is super fun to listen to and will have you jamming to it. The music video does not stay behind, and brings a lot of playfulness mixed with an awesome choreography, and a fantastic visual direction. Watch it below.

Funky instrumentation welcomes listeners in ‘What a Beautiful Day‘, the piano and sax are super good in this song. All together, this single just feels super positive and wholesome. It will have you smiling throughout it. Just enjoy and vibe to it.

Sugar Shock‘ brings retro funk and I am living for the style in this song. The groove is real and the sound combination creates a unique feel that had me pleasantly surprised. TO1 is really showing different colours with this release and I am loving how experimental and fun they are in this release.

Future bass comes along with ‘Butterflies‘ and this song is closing this release on a hopeful note with warm and sweet vocals, overall a good and slightly soft end track for a fantastic mini-album.

TO1 really went beyond expectations with this mini-album ‘WHY NOT?’, the variety of music made it a super fun listen. Make sure to check it out here.
