[Review] CSR – Sequence: 7272

CSR (첫사랑/Cheos-Sarang) is the latest girl group debut under POPMUSIC Entertainment. Consisting of  Sua, Sihyeon, Yuna, Seoyeon, Duna, Geumhee and Yeham, CSR is debuting with the EP ‘Sequence: 7272‘.

Their concept is “a class of young girls who were born in 2005”, and for this debut mini-album they are diving into the feelings of the first love at 17. Let’s listen to the music.

Sequence: 7272

Starting off with charming and dreamy beats we get ‘72.72Hz‘. This single is all about sweet and colourful vocals. It sort of feels like soft bubblegum pop, and it is adorable from start to end. The title track ‘Pop? Pop!‘ comes up next and for this one we get a dance single with lovely tempo changes, funky vibes and playful energy. This song represents the concept to the core and it is super cute.

For the music video we get colourful sets, a very delicate choreography and eye catching effects. All the members look like fairies and I really loved how some of the transition were so perfectly matched with beat drops. Watch it below.

Synthpop takes over in ‘Manito‘, in this song we get nothing but lovely melodies and harmonies. It’s all very sweet and youthful. ‘Toi Et Moi‘ brings cheerful orchestration, a touch of EDM and ADORABLE vocalisation. I loved the ad-libs in this single, they definitely added a fun touch to this song.

Closing this mini-album we get ‘Euratcha!‘, the cherry on top for this release, overall, this EP felt like the soundtrack for a show where friends go on an adventure and this single is the outro song, super spot on!

If you’re up to listening to a mini-album that could be the perfect friend’ holidays soundtrack, with charming orchestration and a lot of charisma, listen to ‘Sequence 7272’ by CSR here.
