[Review] See You in My 19th Life

In today’s drama review we are sharing a story about deep life connections that can last many lives. Today we are talking about the tvN production ‘See You in My 19th Life’.

Ill Fates

Based of the webcomic with the same name by Lee Hye, and written by Choi Young-Rin and directed by Lee Na-Jeong. ‘See You in My 19th Life‘ tells the story of a girl who discover at a very young age that she could remember her previous lives.

Ban Ji-Eum (Shin Hye-Sun) remembered all her previous lives when she turned 8, and decided to improve the ill-fated life she has destined to live for her 19th life. However, despite all her outstanding talents coming from all her previous lives, she is trapped with a toxic family who would have been the end of her if she didn’t leave.

Ji-Eum decides to reconnect with a niece she had in her 17th life. From this point on, she decides to make it her life’s mission to distance herself from the family she was born into this life, and connect with the people of her 18th life, who she left in a very tragic accident at a very young age.

My 18th Life

While living her 19th life, Ji-Eum wants to reconnect with the people she loved in her previous life, after a lot of effort she meets Mun Seo-Ha (Ahn Bo-Hyun), her first love in her previous life who saw her die in a car accident.

Ji-Eum makes it her life’s purpose to grow fast, become close to Seo-Ha and date him. However, his life has not been easy since the accident he had. While working together, she discovers soon that the car accident where her previous life died was not an accident but rather a plot to make Seo-Ha unable to claim his right place in the family.

Together they both face the truth behind the car accident that left him marked forever, and forced her 18th life to end too soon.

My First Life

Ji-Eum not only faces issues from her previous life, but also faces flashbacks of her first life, that is the key for her to find out the truth behind she remembering all her lives.

Along this journey however, she finds out that in her 18th and 19th life, many of the people are connected to her first life, and she tries to put the pieces of the puzzle together and find the reason behind her life with the help of a stranger that remembers his previous life like her.

See You in My 19th Life

See You in My 19th Life‘ is a production that not only has a beautiful story about human connections beyond life, but also has an incredible artistry behind it. The meaningful and perfect cinematography used throughout this drama was an experience that will capture the watchers eye with its beautiful narrative.

This drama on top of that has an incredible talent list, the acting is beyond incredible, and every single character had an important contribution to the storyline. ‘See You in My 19th Life‘ runs on the short side with only 12 episodes. It is available on Netflix, check the trailer below.
