[Review] D.P. 2

We’re back with a new K-drama review and this time we finally got round to watch the second season of the much beloved series ‘D.P.’. Let’s take a closer look!

D.P. 2

If you’re not familiar with the series, please go read our review for the first season to catch up.

As you may remember, D.P. stands for Deserter Pursuit. We follow our main character An Jun-Ho as he fulfills his mandatory military service in this subsection of the military. He struggles with bullying in his unit as do a lot of his compatriots. It’s honestly quite terrible and no one wants to do something about it because maintaining the status quo is important.

This season of ‘D.P.’ continues a couple of months after the events of the first season. I really enjoyed how they were able to create the same tone and how they stuck with the color schemes and themes. The character progression was really great to see and I’m a fan of the extra screentime that Son Suk-ku got. I also loved the role and performance of Kim Ji-Hyun. It created an extra dimension.

The chemistry between the two DP’s, portrayed by Jung Hae-In and Koo Gyo-Hwang was still awesome to see.

It’s definitely worth a watch! I do think it’s important to rewatch the first season as it’s a bit hard to follow otherwise.
