[Review] BamBam – RiBBon

BamBam from GOT7 released his much anticipated EP ‘RiBBon’. Let’s dive right in!

RiBBon

We start off with the ‘Intro’ produced by Murda Beatz. In the album description it’s stated that this is the official intro to the brand new beginning for BamBam’s career.

Next up is ‘Pandora’, co-written by BamBam. This heavy hip-hop track has some really cool samples mixed in like the classic record scratching. It did feel a bit on the longer side despite only being just over three minutes.

After that comes the title track ‘RiBBon’. The music video fits the song so well with its pastel colour scheme and Wes Anderson inspired cake box. The track is cute, happy and fits his personality. That is including his iconic ‘skrr skrr’.

‘Look so fine’ follows that with a more hip-hop inspired sound. The hook is super catchy and will be a guaranteed earworm. The chanting in the bridge is adorable and adds some dynamicity to the track.

Murda Beatz is one of the producers for the track ‘Air’. This song is more laidback and gives us some great vocals from BamBam. I enjoyed the more Latin inspired beats in the chorus. It’s a vibe and will have you grooving to it in no time.

‘Under The Sky’ is the last track on the EP. This is an R&B ballad with some stunning instrumentation. We get some real strings and piano. This is the kind of track you need to hear live in a tiny club on a random Thursday night. It’s lovely!

Overall, this was quite a solid mini-album by BamBam. I’m excited to see what kind of music he’ll release next.
