As the cover and title suggests, this album is a tribute to the shonen mangas (Japanese comics for adolescent boys).
The release of the EP is excellent timing since the animated sports film <The First Slam Dunk> based on Takehiko Inoue’s Slam Dunk manga series, was released in December and has hit the local screens in Korea until now.
The songs are based on comics including ‘Slam Dunk’, ‘Initial D’ and ‘GTO The Early Years’. Referring to the lyrics of ‘rule of protagonist‘, Kim Seung Joo seems like he wants to stay in the manga world, where nobody gets old, where there’s no traffic rules like wearing a helmet, where anybody can be the protagonist, where there’s no problem even though you get hurt or get poor.

The OST for <The Holy Idol> – a webtoon with a total of more than 1.31 million downloads and a 9.6 rating on Naver, is released. This webtoon is about an idol member ‘Woo Yeon Woo’’s body possessed by ‘Rembrary’, a high priest of the ‘other world(isekai)’.
A drama with the same title, adapted from the webtoon has released the teasers and it is announced that the rising star ‘Kim Min Kyu’ will play as the high priest.
The title track ‘If we…’ is sung by Korean representative ballad vocalist Na Yoon Kwon, who topped the charts with ‘If it was me’ and ‘expectation’.

OoOoot

Choi Gyu-cheol, a.k.a OoOoot, is a drummer and producer who was a member of the band Johnny Royal, which performed on more than 1000 stages including the main stage of Rock Festivals, already in his teens. He played as a drum member with many bands including CADEJO and also worked with the renowned jazz saxophonist Kim Oki, too.
Tired of waiting for someone to commission these kinds of new music, OoOoot made this album on his own with various artists. An album lead by a drummer isn’t usual, but OoOoot made it happen with his unique groove and by crossing over genres like jazz, hip-hop and R&B. Samuel Seo participated in his EP this time.

Shinchon Blues

The legendary Korean band Sinchon Blues appeared on KBS’s ‘Songcumentary’ <Back to the Music>. This program introduces the story of a masterpiece that has not been forgotten over the years.
Sinchon Blues is a blues band formed by Um In-ho, Kim Hyun-sik, and Han Young-ae, who were already highly musically appreciated in Korea in the 1980s, ranking two albums in the top 100 Korean pop music albums.
In particular, Um In-ho, the original member of Sinchon Blues’ 37-year history has participated to add significance to this album. With this album, Shinchon Blues has proved that the band is still in progress!
