[Review] Yuju – O

Yuju is back with her second mini-album ‘O’. This is her second release since the disbandment of GFRIEND and her signing with Konnect Entertainment.

O

We start off with the track ‘9 years’. This one was written and composed by Yuju herself. This is a beautiful, warm pop track. It sets the tone beautifully and shows her amazing vocal tone.

After that comes the title track ‘Without U’. This is a stunning pop ballad that will tug at your heartstrings.

‘Dreaming’ follows that up. This is a total vibe. I love the direction they took with this. The playfulness of the synths is amazing. The falsetto?! The high notes?! Yuju really said (or sang) vocalist! This is beautiful!

Next up is ‘Peach Blossom’ featuring sokodomo. I thoroughly enjoyed this collab. It feels very cohesive and the instrumentation is great! The brass is a moment!

The closing track is ‘Full Circle’. This is a really cool R&B pop track that feels quite Western and is the perfect soundtrack for a ride around town.

Overall I’m really digging singer-songwriter Yuju in ‘O’. I love the direction she’s taking for her solo work and this is another album to put on replay.

Go ahead and listen to the album on Spotify here.
