[Review] KINGDOM – History of Kingdom: Pt. IV. Dann

The boys from KINGDOM are back with the new mini ‘History of Kingdom: Pt. IV. Dann’. Let’s take a closer look. The album might be a reference to historical figure Dangun, who was the founder and god-king of Korea, you can read more about here.

History of Kingdom: Pt. IV. Dann

We start off with ‘Intro: Palace’. This epic intro into our journey brings full scale immersion and an expertly built tension. The second half of the song is built for an epic fight scene, I love it.

Next up is the title track ‘Ascension’. I’m obsessed with the instrumentation. The usage of the traditional instruments in combination of more EDM influences is really well done and it creates such an intense track. I wish they had balanced the track a bit more, but I need this track blasted full volume at my eardrums.

Definitely check out the movie like music video.

‘Blinder’ follows that with a more summer vibe with fun guitars and a lighter, more playful instrumental. The vocals are there to appreciate and I enjoyed the adlibs in the backing track. The rap sections are fun and will make you smile.

Next up is ‘Illusion’. The synths are super dope. This track is so well-balanced. This is a new sound for them, and it is absolutely amazing. This is such a wonderful listen. The harmonies at the end are a straight up 10/10.

After that comes ‘Appetite’. This one is sexy. It’s funky and fresh and honeslty a vibe. The rap sections are amazing.

‘The Song of Dann (Promise)‘ by KINGDOM is a ballad and has those lovely traditional instruments in the backing track again. I really liked it and the vocals were next level. The storytelling vibe from this single is on another level. The bridge?! I’m absolutely in awe.

Overall

Overall, ‘History of Kingdom: Pt. IV. Dann’ by KINGDOM is super cool and I really enjoyed listening to it. We also got a snippet of the new king. It looks like they’re going French.
