[Review] Jessi – NUNA

Our hip-hop queen Jessi is back with a brand new EP ‘NUNA’. Let’s check it out because I have high expectations.

NUNA

We start off with the title track ‘NUNU NUNA’ featuring Lee Hyori. If you want to know more about her, go check out our feature we released a while back. ‘NUNU NUNA’ is a fire track that came out with a new music video. The amount of slayage in the music video is insane. I love her little shout out to Psy and the fact that he gave her the green light to behave as she wants. It’s also catchy as hell and will definitely find its way to every upbeat playlist I own.

Next up is ‘STAR’ which is a lot slower and takes me back to one of her previous albums ‘un2verse’. I love this softer, old school hip-hop flow of hers. It just shows the diversity in her flow. This is more lyrical rapping whereas ‘NUNU NUNA’ is more of a hype track. I love the duality. It feels very heartfelt.

‘Put it on ya’ is next featuring BM of KARD and Nafla. The features are fire and I love this laid back instrumentals though it picks up some steam here and there. I dig it.

After that we get ‘Numb’ which is another slow hip-hop track. Vibe wise it matches ‘STAR’ a lot though story wise it’s completely different. It’s absolutely lovely and it’s perfect for a pyjama dance party in your bedroom.

We also get the previously released ‘Who Dat B’. It still carries as much impact as when it was first released.

‘Drip’ featuring Jay Park is the last track on the EP and this one was also released a while back.

Overall

Jessi brought back some old school feels in her new EP ‘NUNA’. I’m totally here for it and I’m in love with her diversity. Go listen to the EP on Spotify here
