[Review] GOT7 – GOT7

After a year of amazing solo releases, acting and even concerts, GOT7 as promised is back together with their new self-titled EP and a new start as an independent group. Ahgase has been waiting for this release and I am beyond happy and thrilled to see JayB, Youngjae, Jackson, BamBam, Mark, Yugyeom and Jinyoung together again.

Just last weekend weekend they held a fan meeting, and we got plenty of wholesome moments and the usual craziness that we love from them.

Let’s dive into the music they have prepared for the fans.

GOT7

Starting off we get ‘TRUTH‘ beginning this release on a high note with a dope synth line and a sexy R&B vibe. The vocals, rapping and style of this single feel a lot more mature and very classy. This song is just super catchy and super groovy.

Drive Me To The Moon‘ takes over on a more light hearted note with lovely instrumentation, a fantastic arrangement, and a chill summer feel. I feel like this song will be perfect for a drive along the beach, just enjoying and vibing to it.

Following up is the title track ‘Na Na Na‘ and this song is all about comfort and sweetness. This single feels like a welcome hug, and I loved how appropriate this single was as a title track. BamBam’s “Skrt, Skrt” had me laughing and this song just has so much soul in it.

For the music video we get dreamy visuals and absolutely stunning sets. I was particularly in love with Mark’s and JayB’s individual ones, the full aesthetics are gorgeous, very soft and subtle. Get ready to fall even deeper for the wholesomeness of this group. Watch it below.

On a fantastic twist we get ‘Two‘. If you have been listening to GOT7 previous releases and solo works as much as me, you will for sure notice as soon as this song starts that Yugyeom worked on this track. His style is printed in every second, so get ready for a sensual R&B arrangement and VOCALS. **Chef’s Kiss**

Next up is ‘Don’t Care About Me‘ continuing on with the chill vibe and rich vocals of this release. BamBam’s rapping was super dope in this single and Youngjae’s singing breathtaking.

Last on this release is the single ‘Don’t Leave Me Alone‘, a pop/R&B track with a very cool guitar orchestration, and a very heartwarming flow. The harmonisations are just splendid and I just really loved the style and sound of this single.

GOT7 came back stronger a very with a very cohesive, musically rich and raw release. One of my favourites by them. Make sure to listen to this EP here.
