[Review] ATEEZ – THE WORLD EP.2: OUTLAW

The boys from ATEEZ are back with their new mini-album ‘THE WORLD EP.2: OUTLAW’. This is a continuation of their storyline from their previous mini-album which you can read about here.

THE WORLD EP.2: OUTLAW

We start off with ‘THE WORLD’. I really dig the combination of the very electronic instrumentation with the opera-like vocals in the opening. There’s an interesting build-up that keeps you at the edge of your seat.

After that comes the track ‘DUNE’. We’re sticking with the more electronic instrumentation. The harmonies in this one are next level though. The chorus had me absolutely shook and made me do a double take. This is such a sick track, I absolutely love it! WOW, what a wild ride to listen to.

Next up is the title track ‘BOUNCY (K-HOT CHILLI PEPPERS)’. This is such a dope track. The amount of power is a very staple theme in ATEEZ’ discography, but this is such an elevated way to go about it. The chorus is hella dope with the cool vocal inflection and the warped high pitched vocal tone.

Also Mingi is THE MAN!

‘DJANGO‘ is up next. This feels a bit more toned down in comparison to ‘Dune’ and ‘Bouncy’. I really enjoyed the ‘puhm puhm puhm’ sound in the instrumentation. It gives it a very dark feel, kind of like the group is surrounded by a choir in dark hoods. The outro is very cool!

We follow that up with ‘Wake Up’. This is another 10/10. The balance between the tension and the spit fire rap verses are so well done. The vocal slides are so awesome! Literally, this is such an incredible track.

The closing track is ‘Outlaw’. The bridge?! What a cool way to play with expectations. The outro really leaves an impression and makes you want to relisten to the whole thing.

Overall I’m extremely impressed by ATEEZ and their latest mini-album ‘THE WORLD EP.2: OUTLAW’. Each and every single track is such an incredible mix of all of their strenghts.

Go listen to it here on Spotify.
