Album Review: THE BOYZ – REVEAL

Today we’re hyping up ‘REVEAL’ by THE BOYZ. And my god, it is totally worth the hype. This darker concept totally works for them!

Let’s get into it!

‘REVEAL’

The opening track for this album is ‘Ego’. What a way to start off! The heavy EDM instrumentals with their vocals are god tier and this is going to every K-pop playlist I have.

Then we have the title track ‘Reveal’ accompanied by a music video that kind of left me speechless.

The vocals, the catchy hook, the visuals. Everything about this song is perfect and blue paint is never going to be the same. Also I need a choreo version of this ASAP because that already looked hella dope.

Shake You Down’ is next. This song had me intrigued from the first second. The heavily autotuned intro had me shook.

Scar’ has a lot of dramatic, devastating effects. There’s whispering, spitfire rapping and soft vocals. Don’t ask me how it works but it 100% does.

After ‘Scar’ we get the softer ‘Salty’. It’s a dance track with beautiful harmonies. At first I thought this was gonna be a fun song, but I looked up the lyrics and they’re kind of bittersweet.

‘Break your rules’ is fun and super super catchy. I’m in love.

With a lot of snaps we get introduced to ‘Wings’. Y’all this is super soft. My heart can’t take it. It showcases that even with less piercing instrumentals that their voices can carry the song.

Goodbye’ starts off with beautiful strings. This ballad gave me chills and I need an acoustic version with a live orchestra and preferably shot in black and white because that’ll make it extra dramatic and will give me all the feels. The harmonies are everything!

‘Spring Snow’ is the last track on ‘REVEAL’. Like ‘Goodbye’ this is also a ballad, but it totally deserves to be an OST. The talk-rap was lovely and went surprisingly well with the piano and the strings.

Overall

‘REVEAL’ by THE BOYZ was a beautiful experience to listen to. They did an incredible job and if this doesn’t get you to stan them I don’t know what will.
