Soyeon from IDLE is back with a solo album ‘What a Wonderful Life’. We’re super stoked as Soyeon’s releases always hit!
What a Wonderful Life
We start off with the title track ‘I’m gonna TOESA’ with narration by Kian84. This is a fun and playful pop track and was a direction I hadn’t immediately expected as title track. However, it is very refreshing and shows a different side of Soyeon.
‘Bankroll’ comes up next. In the album description she writes: “Why are all my relationships so messed up? Lesson: Don’t spend money on men.” This electro pop track feels a little short, even if the message rings true.
After that comes ‘icebluerabbit’. We’re going hyper pop with a fast pace and a lot of interesting instrumentals. This was a really fun listen!
We also have the pre-released ‘STAR’.
‘Hate Veggie Song’ is so typical Soyeon, I laughed. Soyeon is notorious for hating all veggies, so this was pretty funny. It’s a children-style song and is honestly hilarious.
Next up is ‘Amigo’ featuring Minsu. This is a really fun retro pop track that will have you dancing on your bed. Let all your inhibitions go and just go crazy!
‘Would You Love Me’ is a pop rock moment that builds very slowly. It’s a more honest moment that gives an honest peek at her feelings.
We close off with ‘Goodbye Romance’. It’s the bittersweet feeling of missing someone but also realising that you definitely shouldn’t get back together.
