[Review] XIA – Pit A Pat

Multi Talented singer-songwriter, dancer and musical actor XIA (a.k.a. Kim Junsu) is back with his new extended play after a couple of years and we are thrilled.

The former TVXQ member has had a few participations in OSTs over the past couple of years, but this is his first solo release since 2016. ‘Pit A Pat’ is the title of this extended play, let’s dive into these tracks.

Pit A Pat

The dance track ‘Pit A Pat’ kicks off the release and it is also the title track for this EP. This song is a shot of energy, it will have anyone jamming to it with its catchy hook and fantastic vocals. This track feels like a second gen idol release and I’m in love. The music video is beyond cool, the special effects were on point and the dancing was amazing.

Piano acoustics take over in ‘Days’ and this song was made to appreciate the incredible vocal talent of Junsu. His delivery is full of emotion and the orchestration complements the feeling of this track.

Following the soft instrumentation and ballad tempo is ‘Writing you’, I loved the composition of this song, the electric guitar and the violins had me shook and in complete awe. This song is incredibly emotional and soulful.

Near the end of this EP we have ‘When it snows’, this song is the perfect winter release with its piano acoustics and moving lyric delivery.

The last two tracks of this extended play are the instrumental version of ‘Pit A Pat’ and ‘Days’.
Pit A Pat is a fantastic comeback release that is full of emotion and showcases the talent of XIA. You can listen to this EP here.
