[Review] TRI.BE – VENI VIDI VICI

The girls from TRI.BE are back with their first mini-album ‘VENI VIDI VICI’. Let’s dive right in!

VENI VIDI VICI

We start off with the title track ‘WOULD YOU RUN’. This Moombahton track is super fun and a straight up party. I enjoyed the rap verse in the bridge and the pre-chorus is just so lovely!

Also the girls look straight up stunning! I have literally no clue what’s going on in that little teaser part at the end. The reference of ‘VENI VIDI VICI’ is to Julius Ceasar that means ‘I came, I saw, I conquered’. The girls seem to be conquering a different planet and all the different versions of themselves.

After that we get the track ‘LOBO’. This is a reggaeton track that adds some really cool piano in the pre-chorus. It’s dope, it’s catchy and it’s tastefully done. I like it a lot!

‘-18’ follows that with a blend of trap and Korean traditional instruments. It’s super dope. This is a track by the hip-hop sub-unit Hyunbin, Soeun and Mire. They way they layered the instrumentals and then the addition of the rapping by the members makes for a super cool track.

Next up is ‘GOT YOUR BACK’. This is another reggaeton track, and member Songsun is listed in the composing credits. I really enjoyed the power in single. There’s a nice build up to the chorus though it could have gone a bit harder for that intense satisfaction. However, it does make for an easy-listen, especially with the amazing vocals.

After that comes the track ‘TRUE’. This is a pop R&B track that is a super soft listen because of the addition of the lo-fi instrumentals. ‘TRUE’ is the name of the fandom and it is a song dedicated to them.

The last two tracks were the official singles DOOM DOOM TAand ‘RUB-A-DUM’ which we wrote about when they were first released.

Overall ‘VENI VIDI VICI’ is a great release by TRI.BE. The members did a fantastic job with their vocals and their rapping and the album feels very cohesive.
