TREASURE is back with a brand new release, and I have been looking forward to this EP since last year. ‘THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER ONE‘ is the start of a brand new era fans around the world were waiting for.
Since their last release, TREASURE members were busy with the production of their own web-series and a lot of content created for fans.
As usual some of the members were involved in the making of this EP, let’s dive in and check the music.
THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER ONE
Starting off we get ‘JIKJIN‘, a total dance bop. This track goes off with some addictive tunes and a lot of style. Something I noticed is how this single has a very ‘TREASURE’ sound. However, there is also musical growth in this hype tune. I loved listening to how the vocals and rapping of the members has evolved but is still delivering music anthems.
Adrenaline, a tight choreography and cool visuals are the main points of the music video for this track. Part of it was filmed in the Gimcheon School Building, and as expected it’s an absolute killer. Check it below.
Piano instrumentation takes over in ‘You‘ and this single is a bop. Its grooviness and fun style had me jamming to it. The tempo is playful and with each beat drop it just gets better.
R&B vibes take over in ‘DARARI‘, the instrumentation in this song took me by surprise. The diversity in the orchestration is fantastic and the vocal line stands out in this song with their outstanding delivery and style.
Last in the digital version is ‘IT’S OKAY‘, this ballad is super soulful and has a bit of an old vibe I really enjoyed. The ad-libs are amazing in this track and it is like the cherry on top for this release.
