[Review] Han Seung Yun – LOVENDER

Han Seung Yun released his first mini-album ‘Lovender’. Let’s check it out!

Lovender

We start off with the opening track ‘In this moment’. This intro is a lovely acoustic guitar moment that welcomes the listener to beautiful vocals and a soft ambience.

Next up is the title track ‘Lovender’. This rock ballad has some emotive vocals and cool, hard hitting instrumentals. If you need to feel your feelings, put this on blast. That belt in the bridge was exquisite. Seo Jisoo from the recently disbanded girl group Lovelyz acts in the MV.

‘Moon Driver’ has a cool tension build-up that twists into groovy guitars. Kind of obsessed with Han Seung Yun’s vocals in this one. It’s a light pop rock moment that will have you grooving to it in no time.

Next up is ‘Problem’. ONEWE member Yonghoon co-composed the track. What a sexy track! The bass is sultry and playful at the same time and honestly this is a vibe. I love it.

After that we get ‘Whatever you want’. This is such a lovely rock ballad. There’s quite some British influences which is very nice. It’s a lovely listen.

The closing track is ‘How nice would it be’. This is his solo version of the track originally released by the group LUNAFLY which he is in. It’s more of an acoustic moment and it creates a very small scale fragile moment.

Overall, I’m very impressed by Han Seung Yun and his mini-album ‘Lovender’. It’s a great listen and has a lot of variety.

Go ahead and listen to the mini-album here.
