[Review] DeVita – American Gothic

DeVita is back with her new EP ‘American Gothic‘. If you don’t know about her, she is an R&B singer signed under AOMG, her power vocals and smooth style are one of a kind. So get ready for incredible music in this release.

Let’s start.

American Gothic

Eat Your Heart Out, Buddy Kane!‘ starts off this release with a dramatic style I loved. The marching band is super cool and the ad-libs smooth. The music video for this intro was released a few days ago and the cinematography of it is insane. The story line is super dark and the visuals absolutely stunning. Check it below.

The title track ‘Bonnie & Clyde‘ comes next with a soft R&B style. This single is an easy listen. The vocalisation and orchestration are amazing. The visuals for the music video are spectacular. The theatre concept with the fatal end was truly one of a kind but super dope. Check it below.

Featuring Jay Park, ‘Cheese In The Trap‘ plays with an insanely good arrangement. This song is spectacular from start to end. Its got a smooth and unique sound with a lot of style. A solid b-side.

If you are looking for solid vocals, ‘Superstar‘ delivers them with a minimalistic instrumentation and a lot of feel. Next up is ‘Let u in‘, originally released as a duet in CODE KUNST’s album ‘PEOPLE‘. For this version, DeVita delivers an outstanding solo performance with the same feel of the original, truly a masterpiece.

DeVita pours her heart out in the single ‘Pine‘. This song is just under two minutes but the power it holds is real. Last on this EP is the Korean version of the single ‘Bonnie & Clyde’.

American Gothic‘ by DeVita is an amazing listen for start to end. I loved the mix of sound and how different and unique each track is. Make sure to check it out here.
