[Review] Stray Kids – MAXIDENT

The boys from Stray Kids are back with their new album ‘MAXIDENT’. Let’s dive right in!

MAXIDENT

We start off strong with the title track ‘143′. According to the album description, this is the first time Stray Kids has a love-themed track as their title track.

I am absolutely in love with this! It’s so much fun! The beats are catchy, the instrumentals are fun and the vocals fabulous. I’m 100% here for the meme-ability of the music video. It’s awesome!

‘CHILL’ is up next. This one is a break-up song where people don’t want to hurt each other, but they’ve fallen out of love a while ago. I’m loving the layering with the odd vocal sample in the backing track. The chorus is definitely one to sing-along to.

Following that is ‘Give me your TMI’. Changbin really starts this off by popping off. The pacing of this one is insane. We’re going hard and the EDM really is off the charts. It’s a vibe and will cheer you up!

Next up

‘SUPER BOARD’ introduces us to a more cyberpunk inspired Stray Kids. The song is about a hoverboard. I can’t get over the ‘njeooow’ sound of a hoverboard going by. I was cackling like crazy.

The next song is the first sub-unit track of the album. ‘3RACHA’ is obviously by the sub-unit Changbin, Han and Bang Chan. This track is INSANE. We’re going drill and the boys really show us again why they’re on the top. Do yourself a favor and read the lyrics. Also Bang Chan rapping in his Aussie English – brilliant!

‘TASTE’ is by the unit Lee Know, Hyunjin and Felix. This one is a late night club vibe. I adore the mysterious vibe and that smooth, smooth build up. The organ was an awesome touch. The lyrics were written by Lee Know, Hyunjin and Felix.

‘Can’t Stop’ follows that. This is by the unit Seungmin and I.N. This one is a pop rock track and was co-written by Seungmin, I.N and Hong Jisang. I absolutely love this! Everything from the layering, to the brilliant vocals, to the melody is amazing! What a vibe!

The closing track is the Korean version of ‘CIRCUS’ which was originally a Japanese release.
