The girlies from IVE are back with their latest mini-album ‘Looks Can Kill’. Let’s dive right in!
We start off with the pre-released title track ‘Looks Can Kill’.
Then we get ‘Mirror Mirror’. This one is a dark, moody synth track with elements of Mozart’s Violin Sonata No. 21 in E minor. It’s a catchy number that will have your speakers blow out from the heavy bass.
‘Snakeskin’ is an interesting one. We get another really heavy bass, some EDM elements and an insane vocal layering. This was a cool listen and feels quite fresh for IVE.
Next up is ‘CRUMBS’. We’re going electro dance pop with this and it boasts an impressive melody and great vocals. I really enjoyed how they played with tempo and pace.
Then comes ‘Girls Girls Girls’. This is a pop dance track with a lot of retro influences. It’s really fun, and lighthearted. It brings back some summer warmth into this cold and gray autumn day.
‘Glow Motion’ is the closing track and was also co-composed by Zara Larsson. I love it when all my fav girls work together. We’re going for sophisticated pop here. The hook is catchy and overall this track is very dreamy and ethereal.
