[Review] Soundtrack No. 1

If you are into one of the classic drama tropes “friends to lovers”, this week’s review is for you. Let’s talk about the heartwarming short drama ‘Soundtrack No. 1’.

Written by Ahn Sae-bom and directed by Kim Hee-won, ‘Soundtrack No. 1’, brings the world of romance and music in one single production. With an unmatched OST and incredible acting, this series with just four episodes explores the relationship of a lyricist with her life-long friend and her career.

Lee Eun-soo (Han So-hee) is a rather straightforward and honest person, she is fairly successful in her career as a lyricist and is trying to get the job of her life by selling one of her songs to her dream producing company.

Han Seon-woo (Park Hyung-sik), on the other hand, is a rookie photographer with an immense talent, he works at a photography studio and enjoys taking rather melancholic and sentimental pictures.

Seon-woo has been absolutely devoted to Eun-soo for nineteen years. At one stage in their friendship, his feelings turned into a love interest, but Eun-soo didn’t notice despite all his obvious actions and care towards her.

After many years in this situation, they have to co-habitate for two weeks, making Eun-soo realize things she never did before.

Friends to Lovers

Soundtrack No. 1’ with just four episodes is an easy to watch drama that explores the feelings of one sided love, and the fear of not wanting to lose important people.

Han So-hee and Park Hyung-sik, delivered heartwarming roles, they both were honest and real, and their chemistry was incredible.

So-hee’s role was super fresh, and a fun addition to her blooming career. This character was more honest and raw, and I loved how natural and effortless her actions and performance was.

Hyung-sik as usual made viewers fall in love with his characters and how beautifully he displayed his affections towards Eun-soo.

If you want an easy to watch short drama, with a lot of soul, beautiful production and great acting, ‘Soundtrack No.1’ is for you. This drama is available in Disney+ in some regions, you can watch the trailer below.
