[Review] PENOMECO – Dry Flower

PENOMECO just dropped his new EP ‘Dry Flower‘, this time he’s back with not just new music but also a new agency. He is now signed under PSY’s agency PNation.

We are thrilled to listen to this release, let’s dive in.

Dry Flower

A lovely piano riff and lo-fi beats begin ‘Rain Drop‘, this song is brain food music quality, a smooth listen that feels very organic and effortlessly good.

You Up‘ comes up next with an R&B track and a lot of groove. The synth and bass in this track are fantastic and the outro with the birds chirping was a NICE touch.

The title track for this release is ‘JAJA‘ and as expected it is TOP QUALITY, the rapping and the R&B groove in this track are spot on. PENOMECO did his thing in this track and created a BOP!

The music video gave me some serious ‘WALL-E’ vibes and I am living for it. It is cute, sad and wholesome, all at the same time. Watch it below.

We continue with amazing R&B in ‘Actually Pt.2‘, and this song is a full mood. The rapping was fantastic but what really made this song stand out for me was its composition.

Next up

We reach halfway with ‘Interlude‘, this track includes stunning piano acoustics and a very interesting mix with a movie-like feel.

Remember Me‘ featuring Hoody comes next, the mix of instrumentals and hip-hop beats in this track are really good. Hoody’s verses are awesome and their harmonization is unexpected but SO GOOD.

Kid Milli is featured in ‘Better‘, co-produced by Woogie, this track is just a dope listen. It’s smooth and groovy.

The arrangement and composition in the track ‘Change‘ are something else, featuring sogumm, this song goes off with a very alternative and unique vibe. A MASTERPIECE.

Hotel Lobby‘ featuring Verbal Jint is next, the aesthetics of this track are fantastic and very unique. The mix of PENOMECO’s vocals with Verbal Jint’s rapping is just perfect.

The music video for this single was released yesterday and I loved the design and art behind it. As the track, the aesthetics are perfect and follow the nostalgic feel of this song. Watch it below.

Lastly on this release is ‘Insomnia‘ and we are finishing with the lo-fi beats and piano instrumentation we started with. PENOMECO’s rapping in this song feels like storytelling with a very soft vibe in his delivery.
