[Review] ONF – CITY OF ONF

The boys from ONF are back with the repackaged version of their full-length album ‘CITY OF ONF’. We get three new tracks on this release. They released the other ten two months ago on the album ‘ONF: MY NAME’.

We’re stoked so let’s dive in! I can’t wait.

CITY OF ONF

The first new track we get is ‘Ugly dance’. The track was completely created by Hwang Hyun from producing house MonoTree. I’m in love with the little orchestral opening with a reference to ‘Beautiful Beautiful’. I really enjoyed how they played with the layering in this one. When the strings come in, it creates a wonderful impact. The bridge is heavenly!

The transitions in the music video are awesome! I’m just waiting for the moment I’m going to see this all over my TikTok for you page.

Next up is ‘My Genesis (Übermensch)’ based on Nietsche’s theory. Wyatt is singing! I’m shook but so, so pleasantly surprised. The brass in this is super lovely. The instrumentation feels a little like a hodgepodge of styles, but it works. I was sold the moment the electric guitar had a little solo moment.

‘The Dreamer’ is the last new track we get. This is a continuation of the single ‘The Realist’. It gives us a bit of a vintage vibe with fantastic vocals and some really nice guitar. Honestly, I’m soft for this song. It’s absolutely lovely and begs for a live session.
