The boys from ONF are back from military service and a label switch, and delivered us their latest mini-album ‘ONF:MY SELF’. I’m beyond stoked because ONF has this beautiful sound, that is unbeatable. For this comeback they worked with Hwanghyun from MONOTREE again. Let’s take a closer look!
We start off with the title track ‘Open the door’. This was absolutely amazing. We’re getting a pop rock moment with stunning vocals and impressive instrumentals. I loved the vocal outro.
It’s just so great to have them back!
For ‘Bad Dream’ we’re going for a very synthy Afropop beat. It’s a really cool and fresh listen.
‘Escape’ amps up the intensity. It”expresses the sensation of racing through a cyberpunk world with the unique sophistication characteristic of Complextro. It captures the process of deviating from the orbit created by the world to meet a new self, or perhaps one’s true self.” Honestly it’s cool as hell.
After that we get ‘Mirage’ and this was perforned during the ‘2025 ONF CONCERT THE MAP:STRANGER’S PATH’ concert tour.
‘Silver lining’ explains that “every cloud has a silver lining. No matter how thick a cloud is, it is merely blocking the sunlight. Just as weather that seemed terrible eventually changes, this very moment will not last forever.” This will lift you up and have you believe in tomorrow.
The closing track is ‘Once in a Red Moon’. I really enjoyed the high energy and the vocal stacking. This was a lovely listen and a perfect choice for the closing moment.
