The boys from ONEWE are back to wow with their second full-length album ‘WE: Dream Chaser’. They wrote all of the tracks themselves and they wanted to show their growth as they continue to chase their dreams. Let’s take a closer look!
WE: Dream Chaser
We start off with the track ‘Alice’. This is a dark rock track with a lot of angst, but ends on a positive note where they discover that they’re their own saviors. Love the grunge vibes and the sick guitars. This is rad!
Next up is their title track ‘The Starry Night’. What a cute love track. It’s a cool rock track that gives the listener a lot of energy. I love the falsetto and the little drum segment. The progression is lovely and the instrumental break is DOPE.
‘EVILDOER’ stays with the angsty vibe though the chorus feels a bit deceptive in its lightness. It’s a solid rock track where the members are the villains.
‘Traffic Love’ is all about unrequited love. It’s a fun, bouncy track with some excellent guitars and a fun progression.
The track ‘Coincidence’ slows things down a bit with an acoustic guitar and a ballad. ONEWE does excellent ballads, so this was a lovely number, soft and soulful. I like how it was a bit more explosive towards the end.
‘Endless’ is a soft pop moment talking about a break-up with a lot of unresolved feelings. This is super soft.
After that comes ‘Rise Again’. The lyrics imagine themselves as old musicians and how they would struggle and thrive. It’s adorable, hopeful and feels like a letter to the members themselves.
‘Dreamcatcher’ goes a bit groovy. The bass is doing wonderful things in this one and I like the fast tempo and the cathartic feeling at the end of the song.
Following that comes ‘All the things I love’ which sets a very 80s feel with the piano intro. I love how retro this feels with the synths and the rap break. This is such a fun listen. It’s an instant mood lifter!
‘Indelible’ brings us back to ballad town with stunning vocals and lyrics about reminiscing. It’s a pretty listen that will tug at your heartstrings.
We’re closing off the album with ‘Sole Star’. I absolutely love this one. The guitars are dope, the build ups and the storytelling are wonderful. I love the drums during the pre-chorus.
