OMEGA X released their first full length album ‘Story Written in Music‘. With this release the members wanted to show their colour and style through music without genre limitation. We are expecting nothing but bops in every genre and we are very intrigued about the musical direction their first album will take.
Some of the members were involved in the producing and writing for this release. We are excited, let’s check out the tracks.
Story Written in Music
Hip-Hop starts off this released with ‘VENUS‘ and this single single is pure power! The chatting and rap flow were absolute killers. Moving on we get the title track ‘PLAY DUMB‘, with an opposite side to its predecessor, this single leans more into the cutesy pop style. It is a total bop, super fun, catchy and just very summery.
For the music video we get the members having fun while playing tennis and it is very wholesome to see. I absolutely loved the colours and the zero stress vibe, get ready to vibe with this MV, watch it below.
R&B takes over in ‘BINARY STAR‘ and for this song we a retro feel with soft vocals. The orchestration and beat mix in this track is fantastic and super smooth. The lyrical delivery is full of passion and I really enjoyed how chill and vibey this single is.
‘ALL ABOUT YOU‘ takes over with rhythmic percussion and groovy bass. OMEGA X is really showing new colours with this release, the composition, vocals, and melodic rapping in this song really took me by surprise. This song is a SOLID b-side.
The pop-ballad ‘DON’T‘ follows up with a lovely piano melody and guitar instrumentation. This song is all about the feels. The members totally delivered the emotions with their singing. This song must be an experience live.
The party anthem ‘TAKE’EM ALL‘ comes up next, and this song is all about hyping up. EDM is the main element of this track and the only thing I can say is get ready to start jumping on the dance floor with this single. A true anthem.
New music colours
The rap line owns and totally kills it in ‘BOUNCE WITH ME‘. This song is pure power, and I LOVED the rap flow in this track. The contrast with the vocal line was very interesting and very well done. The outro is amazing, a total gift for EDM lovers.
Sebin, Xen and Jehyun became a sub-unit for ‘DANCE WITH U‘. This song is super sweet, and has a tropical summer feel I very much enjoyed. The next sub-unit single is ‘AIRPLANE‘ including Yechan, Jaehan and Hangyeom. It takes a more modern urban style with chill rapping and a cool vibe.
‘DRY FLOWER‘ brings along a lot of passion and emotions with acoustic guitar instrumentation and an EDM track. I loved how dramatic this song is with their changes of tempo. It really made it a unique listen.
With alternative R&B vibes we get ‘CONTROL‘, and the piano instrumentation and falsettos in this song are just an incredible mix. Last on the digital version of this album is the single ‘LOVE‘ closing this release with another new sub-unit including Jaechan, Hwichan, Hangyeon and Yechan.
This song closes this release medium tempo instrumentation and soulful singing. Just get ready for the feels in this track.
OMEGA X really showed a new style with this release, ‘Story Written in Music’ is packed with different genres but consistent in good music. This release just has bop after bop.
