The boys from NEXZ are back with their second mini-album ‘O-RLY?’. We’re super curious so let’s take a closer look at their very first comeback.
O-RLY?
We start off with their title track ‘O-RLY?‘. This is such a fun track! I love the combo of oldschool hip-hop meets Gen-Z wit. According to the album description this shows: “NEXZ’s freedom and passion, as they enjoy the world the way they like without being bound by what other people think, stand out.”
After that comes ‘Simmer’ which has an interesting progression to say the least. The instrumentals are kind of wild, but I definitely enjoyed the quirkiness of it all. This is another hip-hop heavy track, with a lot of fun rhythmic sections.
‘Want More? One More’ comes up next. We’re going for a club banger with this one. I’m really digging the chorus. It’s just such an earworm. I liked the more vocal heavy focus. Honestly, just get some lasers and a fog machine and we’re set to dance.
‘Run with me’ is a mid-tempo track with a lot of heart and a warm message to the people going through life with them. Han from 3racha and from Stray Kids wrote the lyrics to this one.
We’re closing off with ‘Slo-Mo‘. This is a cute pop track with great vocals and a fun synth beat. I like their cheerful energy in this.
